2004
came to a quick end and 2005 is starting with a bang, including some
cold weather and snow. We have enjoyed freaking people out by taking
daily walks in freezing weather.
We
continue to work on the BBtJ.Org
web site as well as form relationships with people around the world
through writings and email.
Hominy
has been great! It is our goal to live and behave in a way that
others will see us as a living example of Jesus and His Way of Life.
We volunteered at Christ's Cupboard (picture to the right, mostly
local church pastors in Hominy) during distribution of Christmas
baskets to the needy. Christmas to us isn't about the holiday so much
as an opportunity when people are more open to the Gospel. As part of
Outreach For America
(OFA), we also participated in a Christmas program at Holdenville
Prison. Dave introduced the team; we each gave a brief testimony.
After the music and service, we greeted the inmates and could pray
for anyone who asked.
Since
we've been in Hominy so long, people have asked us if we've been put
on staff at OFA. The answer is no; we've been volunteering,
dealing with computers and business-related issues. The intention was
always to be visiting, passing on business knowledge,
building relationships and gaining ministry experience. With so much
to do, we never managed to put in RV hookups, so being winter, it is
no longer possible to park Bussie at the OFA headquarters building
(see picture below, left). There are no practical RV parks close by
and our cell phones didn't work very well (weak signal) which
inhibited us greatly. We have a number of things in Tulsa
that have been on our hearts to do, people to meet and
spend time with. Frankly we had been too busy in Hominy to
pursue
these activities. Now relocated to an RV park in Tulsa, we will have
more opportunity to do so.
We
believe God gave us Bussie to use as a tool to further His Work. She
allows us to travel much like the Apostle Paul did, with short or long stays in
various locations. We have a number of invitations around the country
but have no strong unction from God to go in any particular direction
as yet. The ruling principle is “to stay where you were last called
until you are called to something new.” For now we are still within
reasonable range of Hominy if OFA needs us for something more. We
look forward to the Divine Appointments that God has lined up for us
here in Tulsa. We will post specific activities to our online
calendar when information is available. If you would like us to
visit you or your organization in the future, please let us know.
Email is the best way to reach us.
While
we do have limited income from a couple of sources; the primary
investment from which we had been supporting ourselves has been
frozen by the SEC. This is a
serious setback, but we know that God will supply our needs. Both
prayer that the SEC back off with the investment proving good and/or
donations are much appreciated.
If
you'd like to partner with us, please use our partnering link in the
upper right corner of every BBtJ.Org web page

Reviews
from Virginia
Winter is often a time to catch up on reading.
Those of you who know me are probably aware that I read several light
reading books a week. However, I turned over a new leaf and have been
reading more of the Bible and other educational works. I completed the
Read the Bible in 90 Days
Program at the end of December. While
admitting that one does have the tendency to scan and skip the
“begats,” I also enjoyed reading a larger chunk each day. Charles
Capp's The Tongue: A Creative Force was an uplifting read. It gave me
a whole different perspective on the spoken word as positive
affirmations, as well as the real meaning behind “taking every
thought captive.”My review of this book can be found at
http://www.BBtJ.Org/reviews/Tongue.html.
Partnering
with BBtJ.Org
Some
people have asked us how they can further support us in our ministry,
some even preferring to support a fledgling ministry because it takes
so much less money to make a difference than it would in a larger
ministry.
God
provides seed, and encourages giving, planting into good soil. (Check
out Luke
6:38).
Seed is not just money; it's also everything in God's word: prayer,
love, care, encouragement, etc. When people give with Joy they also
in time reap a harvest that God provides. It takes time for seed to
grow. Planted in bad soil; Bad or No harvest! Read Mark
Chapter 4.
It’s just like an investment! Judge wisely.
We
realize there are many charities, all of which need support. How do
you determine what is good soil? Ask God about it in prayer. Then
meditate on it. One good guideline is to give where you are fed.
Another is to give to those you see making a real difference that
lines up with God’s word (the Bible) as you (not someone else) read
it.
If
it’s not joyfully given from the heart, it won't garner a harvest
for you. We are doing our best see to it that our ministry is good
soil deserving of seed. We trust God for a great harvest that we
cannot yet see for both you and us. If you'd like to be a monthly
partner we'd love it Luke
12:34, giving once is great too, or just be a friend in prayer,
that's as valuable as money!

upbeat messages. Keep up the good work!

M: Didn't get a chance to read all your newsletter but it is
awesome how you guys stepped out and found a place to minister
instead of just sitting around. Can't say enough how much it blessed
me (Bussie helps, right?) and are finding out what God has for you.
Jodi

newsletter. It just shows us some of your many talents. Keep on
